A Picture Worth A Thousand Words

First I picked a picture of myself and made a new window ( file- new- 4 by 4). Used my text tool to make three different fonts ( each a different layer) & used my marquee tool around the text ( M). The I went to edit and define brush preset, then went back to my picture. Then i went to select - color range & midtones, I made a duplicate layer on the original photo ( Ctrl J). Then I named the layer midtones and I did the same for the shadows. Then went to edit, fill, and filled midtones with 50 % gray and shadows to black ( kept the perserve transparency checked). Then I right clicked on the shadows and clicked merge visible after I clicked the eyes off from my original photo layers. The I made a new layer, filled the background with white ( Ctrl Backspace).  I went to my brush tool (B), then I went to window - brushes (F5) and brush tip shape. Spacing moves letters away from each other, Space Dynamics: angle jitter flips the letter around & size jitter makes words bigger. ( I used this for each brush). I made a layer mask on my text layer, selected all ( Ctrl A) on shadows layer and copied it ( Ctrl C). The I inverted my picture to a mask ( Ctrl I), Then I pressed fx and went to gradient overlay. I changed the color and changed the blend mode to screen. I had a problem understanding how to do it at first, so Ms. Minkle sat down with me and helped me with the first half of it. Once I was done I really didnt like the black and white version of it so that why I changed it to rainbow it looks better.

.:: Creation Of Choice ::.

First of all I started off by editing all of the pictures individually before putting them together. I started off with the background, I used brightness and contrast; brightness -2 & contrast 73. Then for Alex (top left corner), I used curves; input 166 & output 179. Then using vibrance, I set it to 26 and saturation 5.And for color balance; Cyan/Red: 22, Magenta/Green: 10 Yellow/Blue: -10.  Kenny (bottom left corner) I started off by using the burn tool ( O) because his skin was too bright. Then used vibrance; vibrance set to – 3 and saturation 3. Also used brightness and contrast; brightness -5 , contrast 17. Raymond (bottom right corner) didn’t need much editing so I used curves; input 153 & output 150. Then I used brightness & contrast; brightness -20, contrast 13. Marcus ( the baby), I used curves; input 184 & output 209. Vibrance 23, saturation 7, brightness -5 contrast 7. April (to the right of Marcus), I used curves; output 190 & input 174. And I used brightness and contrast; brightness 6 & contrast 27. David ( next to Raymond)  I used curves; output 190 & input183. Brightness and contrast; contrast -1, contrast 27. For Myle & Shawna (In between Kenny & David) I didn’t really need to do a lot of editing because it was already pretty vibrant but it was dark. So I used cuves; output 183 & input 138.

Now that all the editing is done, I started off by making a blank background. I went to file, new ( height 4 & width 6). Then for the background I selected it using marquee ( M) and moved it to the blank background using the move tool. And I shrunk it using free transform ( Ctrl T).  I used the marquee tool for all of the people on it & copy and pasted too ( Ctrl C & Ctrl V). I tried refining the edge for everyone but it wasn’t working so I used the blur tool around them. For the text, I made a new layer and used the text tool
( T). Then I right clicked on the text box and went to blending options. Drop Shadow: Blending mode at normal/ Opacity 67/ Distance 6/ Spread 8/ Size 3/ Noise 0. Outer Glow: Blending Mode- Screen/ Opacity 75/ Noise 0/ changed the color to purple. Elements: Technique- softer/ Spread 13/ Size 9. Quality: Range 37 & jitter 8. I changed the color of Raymond’s shirt to red by selecting his shirt, went to image – adjustment- and replace color. Then I set the hue to (- 27), saturation ( -7) & lightness ( -4).  For the brush or stamp whatever tickles your fancy. I made a new layer and used a image from the internet and copy and pasted it to my project, then I used free transform to shrink it.
Then I went to edit & define brush preset, then created a clipping mask ( Alt – Ctrl G). For the boarder, I went to edit and stroke; width 10px and set the color to pink. Location – center & Blending mode normal opacity 100. Then I went to filter and ripple; amount 25.

            I like it because it makes me think about what amazing people God has given me and how they have made such an impact on my life. Since they have done so much for me I decided to make something dedicated to them, they are everything I need and more and I don’t know what I would do without them.

Personalized Card

First I went to file and new; I changed the width to 6 & height to 4.
Then my background image was kind of dull so i enhanced it. I changed the brightness to 4 & contrast to 33. Vibrance 11 & saturation 3. I also enhaned the background image for the text; Vibrance 0 & saturation 24. For the text I went to blending options; drop shadow - opacity 79 -Distance 10 - Spread 10 - Size 8.  Outer Glow: Opacity 69 - Noise 0 - Spread 10 - Size 6 - Range 61 - Jitter 3. Then I shrunk the butterfly using free transform ( Ctrl T) & Alt Ctrl G to make it a stamp and I  did the same for the skull. I like this because it kind of brings out y personality a bit and it has some of my favorite colors together .

Postcard =))

            This is my postcard; it’s based on the school. I first took a photo of the lockers and rotated it using free transform. Then using the clone stamp tool for the string on the bottom right. Then using curves, I set the input to 197 and the output 230. I used brightness and set it to -6 and contrast to 51.  And I also used vibrance I set that to 4 and saturation 3. I used the burn tool and the blur tool on the lockers, door, and the floor. For the Globe I used curves: input 151 & output: 180 and vibrance: 55 & sat -9. Books; I used brightness: -9 & Contrast: 75, vibrance 64 & saturation: 0. For the book fair poster, brightness 18 & contrast 56, vibrance 21 & saturation 21. For the globe, blending options, radius: 5.1/ contrast 42/ smooth: 14. Feather: 2.3/ Contract & Expand 10, For the books, I went to blending Options and set the radius 48.3/Contrast: 48/ Smooth: 40, the feather: 2.7/ contrast: 14. For Mrs. Goodwin, I used brightness: 31 & contrast: 22. I also used vibrance: - 6  & Saturation: - 2. I used free transform to make her smaller and I pressed shift for the fx. Current Science Poster, I set the vbrance 45 & saturation: 17, for curves I set the output to134 & Input: 136. I set the brightness: 3 & Contrast 49. I used free transform for just about everything on it.  I used brightness and contrast for everything because it kind of edits the light dark parts of the photo. I used the move tool to put everything together because it was easier for me instead of copying and pasting. I like it because it’s representing the school and I though it would’ve been an easy subject since I’m at school all of the time.

Choice # 1

This is a picture of my kitten, her name is Lucky.  This photo was taken in my bedroom November 8th at 1:56 pm. The mode was on pet.

I first i cropped my finger out of the right side of the photo. Then blurred the background a little bit more using the blur tool, then I enhanced the photo with curves. The input set to 193 and the output to 224. I used the vibrance tool and changed the vibrance to 11 & the saturation to -6. Using brightness and contrast, I changed the brightness to -16 and contrast to 14. Then I color corrected it; Cyan -9, Magenta -6 , Blue 6.I like this picture because it a cute picture of her and I really don't get a picture when she's calmed and relaxed.

Architecture

This photo was taken October 30th in Bena at 3:55 pm.
The mode was set on scenery with the flash off.

This photo didn't need much editing, so first I cropped it a bit. Then I took the red sign out of the back near the cafe sign. and fixed the wall on the bottom right hand corner. I used the clone stamp tool for both. Then I used cuves to enhance it, the input was 170 and the output was 151. I also used brightness and contrast and vibrance. Brightness was 12 and contrast was 23 & on the vibrance I changed the vibrance too 27 and the saturation to 13. I like this picture because of the angle of it.

Scale

This photo was take November 4th in my house -at 7:49 pm.
The mode was set on auto with the flash off.

Ok, so first of all the picture was way to dark so I used curves to brighten it up. The out put was 208 and the input was 153. Then using the vibrance tool, I set the vibrance to 10 and the saturation to 10. And finally using brightness and contrast; Ikept the brightness at 0 and changed the contrast to 70. I kind of like this picture but not a whole lot, because this is the closest I could get to scale.
